The Operating Room X (OR-X) is an open-access center for surgical research and training that connects technological innovation with the realities of surgery. As part of the SERI Roadmap of Research Infrastructures, its 1,185 m² facility combines a fully equipped operating room with a dedicated skills lab.

 

This unique setup allows technologies such as artificial intelligence, surgical robotics, navigation systems, and data-driven solutions to be integrated into surgical procedures and evaluated in a controlled environment. Clinicians, engineers, researchers, and industry partners can work side by side to develop, refine, and assess new approaches before they move closer to patient care.

 

In this way, the OR-X provides a shared, realistic space where ideas can evolve into practical solutions and contribute to the surgery of tomorrow.
